Rockport, Massachusetts, Portrait Session at Bearskin Neck | Christine

This Saturday I met an inspiring creative entrepreneur, lover of life, fiancé, lover of the sea and much more. Let me introduce you to PowerSheets’ blog contributor, Christine!

Christine is totally a woman after my own heart. During our session, Christine and I explored Bearskin Neck, romancing about our love for fiction and sci-fi novels, love for art, the beauty and power of the sea, and passion.

Christine grew up in Florida and Bearskin Neck was the best spot for our session. This was Christine’s first time to Bearskin Neck and I was totally a tour guide and a photographer for the day. Before our session, we walked through the galleries and peaked into the lovely boutiques before we began shooting.

A walk through Bearskin Neck always leaves me inspired. With Motif No. 1, Cape Cod style storefronts, pops of color - nautical teals and blues, lobster pots, buoys, the lovely studios and art galleries of the artistic colony, there is so much to take in within a mile or so. Our first pitstop was at David Arsenault’s gallery and WOW! We both walked in and were mesmerized by his work. I saw Hopper in his work and as I mentioned Hopper to Christine, the man at the desk asked us how we were doing. That man was Arsenualt! We were lucky enough to meet the artist and began speaking to him about the relationships in his artwork. We walked through the gallery were inspired by the work of New England lighthouses and nautical scenes.

The rain had slowed a bit and we moved outside.

We found cover under a small building with Motif No. 1 in our background. We shot and chit-chatted there for about an hour or so until the rain stopped.

Once the rain completely stopped, we moved to a small beach and continued our portrait session along the wall and continued to the water. It was my goal to have the ocean by our side. I love photographing on the water. The ocean photographs beautifully especially in neutral light. Motif number 1 was in our background alongside the beautiful ocean and we tackled our photo session.

Thank you so much Christine for inviting me to photograph your beautiful headshot session! I had a blast. Congratulations on your new position and let your wedding countdown begin!

With love,
