Beverly, Massachusetts, Michelle Behre Photography hosts a Holiday Portrait Session Event at Brooksby Farms | Top 3 Tips On Preparing for Your Signature Holiday Portrait Session

This season we will be celebrating the holidays at Brooksby Farms’ beautiful Holiday Tree Farm. This Holiday Season is going to definitely be a special one! Brooksby Farms is hosting a special event (check out their website, storefront, and social media for more details) and we are so excited to be a part of their Holiday events.

1. Cohesive Clothing. Concerning clothing and accessories, we will be spending a decent amount of time outdoors. I would definitely recommend wearing something that will be comfortable, cozy, warm, and fashionable for you and your family. When asked about outfit choices, I always direct families to wear their Sunday’s best to all sessions. Photography is a lifetime investment, and some families invest once twice in their sessions. Therefore, let’s make this investment count, and styling matters! Think about color coordinating your outfits, bring your best outfits together, preparing, and coordinating with the family. Khakis and dress would be best for the men, dresses, skirts, and dress shirts for the women. Would you be interested in getting your hair and make up done? That’s always an option too!

Additionally, I would recommend a consistent color scheme. For example, if you’re water bugs, you may want to go for a more nautical theme and have a royal blue, cream, and gray palette or if you are interested in channeling your holiday spirit, maybe contrast the green of the holiday trees with a maroon, red, gold, or white palette!

Remember, this is your session, let it speak to you and your family!!!

2. Bringing Your Furry Friends. I recommend all families arrive when the doors open (that is 15 minutes before your session start time). This will give us time to chat, get acquainted with one another and to break the ice. For all families bringing your furry friends, please arrive when doors open to prep for your session. This will especially help for your pup to get a bit acquainted with the camera! Here I will be able to socialize with your cute little pup. If you are bringing a furry friend along, please bring his or her favorite treats to nibble on and his/her favorite toy!! This will be extremely helpful during our session and will truly help bring the attention to me.

3. Tips for your Little Ones. Before your session we always recommend a feeding and a nap. It is always best if your little one is well rested before our session so he or she is well refreshed and ready for our session.

Additionally, we will be photographing outdoors and would love for you to stay warm! If plausible, please bring some warm clothes, blankets, and if plausible your little one’s favorite toy! This will help keep the attention on us.
